Noah Greenberg Award (2001) In its first year of operation, TALISMAN was fortunate to be awarded the Noah Greenberg Award for its recording project: Roses d'amour: Music by Russian Princesses at the Court of Catherine the Great. This project focuses on music composed by Russian women comoposers in the 1790s to be released by Dorian in March 2002. Anne visited the annual meeting of the American Musicological Society in Atlanta, Georgia in October 2001 to receive the award. The Noah Greenberg Award was established by the Trustees of the New York Pro Musica Antiqua in memory of their founder and first director. The award is intended as a grant-in-aid to stimulate active cooperation between scholars and performersby recognizing and fostering outstanding contributions to historical performing practices. It is named for Noah Greenberg (19191966), pioneer in the field of early music performance and distinguished member of the Society. TALISMAN gratefully acknowledges the support of the AMS and the Trustees of the New York Pro Musica Antiqua, who make our recording project possible. |
